Winner of the Art Institute of Chicago “Windows” challenge

In 2024 The Art Institute of Chicago asked artists across the City to design windows highlighting the work of their featured artist, Georgia O’Keefe. The Pulaski Elston Business Association (PEBA) contacted one of our artists to paint the 75′ of windows for the closed Marie’s Pizza and Liquors. With Ms. O’Keefe’s city paintings as inspiration, Chicago Henge took the center panel in the piece “City in a Garden

 

Covid – 19 Storefronts

In 2020 Covid-19 forced most stores and restaurants to close or provide carry-out and delivery only. Arts Alive Chicago worked with many of the restaurants to create artwork that would help raise those dark business’s profiles.

We also painted boarded-up storefronts with a touch of humor to make the neighbors smile.

Arts Alive Chicago started (as Arts Alive/45 in 2011) by painting vacant storefronts…and we still enjoy the fun.
