In 2014 for Six Corners Bar-B-Que Fest, Arts Alive Chicago invited artists to design and build bicycle part sculptures which were later (temporarily) installed along Irving Park to raise awareness of bicycles.
In 2013 Six Corners Association commissioned a sculpture to commemorate the area portage, Ted Sitting Crow Garner created “The Portage”
and Arts Alive Chicago coordinated a presentation for Chicago Artists Month featuring the artist discussing the installation of the sculpture.
As we continue to grow the collection, Arts Alive Chicago is working with the area Chambers to discuss conservation and restoration of the old and new works.
At 2013 Bar-B-Que Fest Arts Alive invited Kelly Ludeking of KRL Metals to cast works carved by fest-goers out of molten metal–right there at the fest! (Thanks SMOQUE Bar-B-Que for sponsoring the fun!)
