With summer winding down, it’s no surprise that the big mural projects are winding down also. With the help of amazing interns and volunteers the east side of the mural pair takes shape as a powerful reminder what the connection to the homefront can be.

There are so many artists and volunteers in the Bridgeport community that want to make their area more beautiful that Alderman Thompson’s office scheduled a second fantastic community paint day. Turn out and weather was BEAUTIFUL!
After many months of planning and waiting Arts Alive Chicago had a “Tom Sawyer day” and had nearly 60 students come out to prime the walls for the first mural of the 2018 season, “Mail Call” by Cyd Smillie.
